The company Relog disagreed with the conclusions of the Specialised Interdistrict Economic Court of Almaty, which dismissed its claim against former director Mukhtar Leker. The company believes that the court confirmed a number of key facts that it had pointed to from the very beginning. Relog intends to continue defending its interests in the legal field.
WHAT RELOG STATED
As Relog's press service told the FBRK, the company respects the court's decision but disagrees with it.
"We recognise the importance of the judicial system, at the same time we remain convinced of the validity of our position both from a legal and an ethical point of view," the comment says.
According to the company's representatives, the court's decision recorded the main point: at the time when Mukhtar Leker was general director of Relog LLP, he headed another company with the same type of activity, and Relog's clients moved there. The company calls such behaviour unethical and in breach of business ethics standards.
"We consider this a violation of a director's duties to the company, therefore we will continue to protect our interests in the legal space, using the legal instruments provided by legislation," Relog added.
WHAT THE COURT DECIDED
The day before, the FBRK wrote that on 23 October 2026 the Specialised Interdistrict Economic Court of Almaty refused Relog Global Ltd. the recovery from Mukhtar Leker of almost KZT 15.9 million in lost profit and an injunction against the use of commercial secrets. In addition, the court awarded the company to pay Mukhtar Leker KZT 2.6 million in legal costs.
The court did indeed establish that on 8 July 2025 Mukhtar Leker, while remaining director of Relog LLP, headed Census LLP and that both companies have the same type of activity. However, the court saw no competition between them. Clients explained that Relog is a logistics system, while Census is a solution for the sales department, and that they moved to Census on their own initiative. Contracts with Relog, according to them, remain in force.
In the summer, Relog estimated the damage from the actions of former employees at more than KZT 2 billion.
CAN RELOG APPEAL THE DECISION
The decision has not entered into legal force. The parties may appeal it in the Almaty City Court within one month after the decision is issued in its final form.
