Head of JSC Kazakhtelecom Bagdat Mussin refused to answer a question from journalist Zhaniya Urankayeva about the quality of communication and rising tariffs, which she asked outside the Majilis building. The head of the national company called this format of communication unethical and suggested she approach him separately.

Journalist Zhaniya Urankayeva attempted to ask Bagdat Mussin a question about internet quality and tariff increases. In response, the head of Kazakhtelecom stated that he was not at a press conference and was not ready to answer under such conditions.
During the conversation, Mussin noted several times that he considered this manner of communication unethical. He suggested that she request a personal meeting and stated he was willing to receive the journalist separately.
WHAT BAGDAT MUSSIN REPLIED
During the exchange, Bagdat Mussin explained that he did not want his answers to be taken out of context. According to him, the journalist's questions were 'substantial' and discussing the topic of communication quality and tariffs required a more detailed conversation.
To the direct question of why the quality of communication is deteriorating while tariffs are rising, the head of the company replied that it was impossible to answer in one minute, as the issue is a complex one.
WHY JOURNALISTS ASK QUESTIONS AT EVENTS
During the conversation, Zhaniya Urankayeva noted that media representatives are forced to approach the head of the national company at various events and in public places, as no separate press conferences inviting all interested journalists have been held during his tenure leading the company.
The journalist also asked Bagdat Mussin about his communication with the public and mentioned information regarding his membership in the Adilet party. In response, the head of Kazakhtelecom said he was in a hurry for a meeting and again proposed discussing the issues separately.
CONTEXT
It is worth recalling that Bagdat Mussin took over as head of Kazakhtelecom in 2024, replacing Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev in this position.
Earlier, JSC Kazakhtelecom published its financial results for 2025. The document shows that the total remuneration for the chairman of the board, Bagdat Mussin, and the company's key management personnel amounted to 752.3 million tenge.
