The Disinformation Counteraction Centre of the Central Communications Service (CCS) has presented an overview of the most common false reports for June 2026. The document includes official clarifications from state bodies on topics that were actively discussed on social networks and in messaging apps.

SOCIAL POLICY

One of the common reports was the claim that mothers working part-time as couriers are being deprived of social benefits.

According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, state childcare benefits for non-working parents are paid regardless of possible employment. Social benefits for working parents are not automatically terminated and can only be stopped upon the voluntary application of the recipient.

Information also spread that in Kazakhstan, exemption from compulsory military service could be obtained on grounds of sexual orientation or religious beliefs. The Ministry of Defence reported that the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not provide for such grounds for exemption.

ECONOMY AND BUSINESS

The overview included reports of an alleged mass data leak of Kazakhstani entrepreneurs from the information systems of the Ministry of Finance.

The department stated that its information systems are protected by specialised services, data is stored in encrypted form, and information about mass cases of fraud has not been confirmed.

Another topic was reports that obtaining loans for small and medium-sized businesses would require a national rating.

The National Bank explained that ratings will be used as an additional tool for assessing the reliability of companies and are not a mandatory condition for obtaining a loan or doing business.

ENERGY

In June, reports spread about a shortage of aviation fuel and possible disruptions to air travel. According to the Ministry of Energy, domestic airlines are fully supplied with fuel, airports are operating normally, and there are no risks of fuel shortages.

Information also appeared about a shortage of autogas in the Mangystau and Atyrau regions. According to the ministry, both regions are supplied with autogas in volumes exceeding the stated demand, and deliveries are proceeding normally.

SECURITY AND DEFENCE

The Ministry of Defence denied information that 1940s weapon samples were being used during military exercises. Standard weaponry is used in the exercises, as well as new models of equipment arriving as part of the modernisation of the Armed Forces.

Another topic was an incident during exercises held by the Almaty City Police Department, which was linked to a live grenade explosion.

The police explained that there was a premature detonation of a non-lethal stun grenade. Officers received medical attention, and reports of their serious condition were not confirmed.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

The overview included reports about the creation of refugee detention centres in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Kazakhstan is negotiating a readmission agreement with the European Union (EU), which concerns the simplification of the visa regime and the return of citizens who have left the country illegally. The department did not confirm information about the creation of centres.

Reports also circulated that the construction site for Astana's second airport had already been determined.

The Akimat of the city of Astana stated that a final decision on the location for the second airport has not yet been made. The specified territory is not within the administrative boundaries of the capital and cannot be included in the city's General Plan.

Also online, reports appeared about a ban on parking near private homes from 1 July 2026. The Ministry of Industry and Construction reported that this only concerns the long-term storage of abandoned and defective vehicles in public areas, not a ban on parking.

REGIONAL REPORTS

Furthermore, official bodies denied reports of a serial killer in the Kyzylorda region, a tornado in the Zhetysu region, and the authenticity of a video showing a car on the surface of Lake Balkhash.
