The Prosecutor General's Office has stated that a press release circulated on 4 August 2026 in certain mass media outlets, alleging that violations had been found in the activities of the political party "Әділет", does not correspond to reality. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the dissemination of false information.
WHAT THE PROSECUTOR GENERAL'S OFFICE REPORTED
The press release published in certain mass media outlets regarding the results of an inspection and alleged violations found in the activities of the political party "Әділет" is knowingly false. The office stressed that no such statements had been issued and that no inspection of the party had been carried out.
In connection with the dissemination of knowingly false information, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated under paragraph 3, part 2, Article 274 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Dissemination of knowingly false information").
WHAT JOURNALISTS AND USERS OF ONLINE PLATFORMS WERE REMINDED
The Prosecutor General's Office drew attention to the fact that, in accordance with the Law "On Mass Media" and the Law "On Online Platforms and Online Advertising", journalists and users of online platforms are obliged to verify the accuracy of information and not to disseminate material if it is false and unlawful.
The office also urged citizens to trust only official statements from the Prosecutor General's Office published on its official information resources.
