French companies have announced their intention to invest a further €1.5 billion in Kazakhstan over the next three years. The money could be directed towards the development of energy, infrastructure and tourism. The investors also expect to create more than 1,000 jobs.
WHERE THE MONEY WILL GO
As reported by BES.media, the investors' plans were outlined by the French Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Sylvain Guiaugé, at a presentation of a survey of French business in Astana.
The main areas of investment are wind power plants, hydropower, water supply and heating networks. French companies are also interested in developing tourism.
In particular, the company POMA has signed a contract to supply cable cars for the Almaty Mountain Cluster project. Some of the equipment may be manufactured in Almaty or the Almaty Region.
Exact sums for each project have not yet been disclosed.
