The Foreign Ministry is negotiating with Russia on the return of Kazakhstanis from the combat zone

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Kazakhstan  continues to review appeals from citizens who are in the combat zone and is conducting negotiations with the Russian side regarding their return to their homeland. After verifying the information, the ministry intends to send the compiled list of citizens to the Russian side.

WHAT IS KNOWN

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, appeals from citizens of Kazakhstan continue to arrive at the ministry's hotline. The information on each appeal is being verified, after which the compiled list will be sent to the Russian side.

With regard to the Kazakhstanis who published video appeals on social networks, the necessary measures are already being taken.

HOW THE NEGOTIATIONS WITH RUSSIA ARE PROCEEDING

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that it is conducting negotiations with the Russian side regarding the return of citizens of Kazakhstan to their homeland. The ministry maintains constant interaction on this issue at various levels.

CONTEXT

Earlier, a group of citizens of Kazakhstan recorded a video appeal asking for help after, according to them, instead of working as security guards in Russia they were offered to go to war in Ukraine. For refusing, as the young men claim, they were threatened with 15 years of imprisonment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that it had sent a diplomatic note to the Russian side.
