WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Ministry of Transport, on 24 June 2026, near the village of Zarya in the Pavlodar Region, a hard landing occurred involving an MI-8 AMT aircraft with registration number UP-MI872, which was operated by Kazaviaspas JSC.
The helicopter was conducting a search and rescue flight to locate a missing person. According to preliminary information, a man born in 1950 overturned his motorcycle while fishing, sustaining a leg injury, after which he requested assistance.
On board were 13 people, including 5 crew members and 8 passengers.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES
According to the ministry, there were no fatalities as a result of the aviation incident. Details about injured persons are still being clarified.
The aviation event has been classified as an aviation incident with no fatalities (accident).
HOW THE INVESTIGATION IS PROCEEDING
The investigation is being conducted in accordance with the Rules for the Submission of Data and Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents, approved by order of the Minister for Investments and Development dated 27 July 2017, No. 505.
The investigation is being carried out by the Department for the Investigation of Accidents and Incidents in Transport. Currently, department staff have begun the field stage of the investigation to gather factual information.
