WHERE THE EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED
According to data from the network of seismic stations of National Seismological Observations and Research Centre (NSORC) LLP, Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, tremors were recorded on 26 May 2026 at 11:28 Astana time.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located 855 km northwest of Almaty on the territory of the Pavlodar Region, in the Bayanauyl District. It is specified that the epicentral area was near the village of Bayanauyl.
The coordinates of the epicentre were 50.47° north latitude and 76.47° east longitude. The depth of the focus was 30 km.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES
An operational headquarters has been established at the Department for Emergency Situations of the Pavlodar Region (DES) to coordinate actions and monitor the situation.
No information about casualties or destruction has been received. The DES reported that all life support facilities are operating normally.
