In Almaty, the pre-trial investigation into the high-profile accident on Al-Farabi Avenue, which resulted in the deaths of three people, has been completed. The criminal case materials have been sent to court.
WHAT IS KNOWN
According to lawyer Oleg Chernov, representing the interests of the relatives of the deceased 29-year-old driver of the Mercedes, the investigation is complete and the case has been referred to court for consideration.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 28 May at 15:00 in the Specialised Interdistrict Criminal Court of Almaty.
HOW THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED
The crash occurred on the night of 21 March on Al-Farabi Avenue in Almaty. Three people died in the accident — the driver of the Mercedes and two female passengers aged 20 and 22.
According to the investigation, the driver of the Zeekr was involved in street racing with another car. The investigation also claims that the man was driving while under the influence of a mild degree of alcohol.
