WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE FIND
According to the Department of Police of the North Kazakhstan Region (DP SKR), the woman's body was found near a sewer manhole on Taufik Mukhamedrakhimov Street.
The deceased appeared to be around 40 years old or slightly older. She had no documents on her. Due to significant post-mortem changes, specialists are not yet able to determine even the woman's general appearance type.
WHAT THE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING
The DP SKR reported that a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the discovery of the body. Law enforcement officers are establishing the identity of the deceased, as well as the causes and circumstances of her death.
Specialists have ordered forensic examinations.
IS THE FIND LINKED TO A DISAPPEARANCE
City residents on social media have noted that around a month ago, 44-year-old Tatyana D. went missing in Petropavlovsk. However, there is no official data confirming that the discovered body is hers.
CONTEXT
In July 2026, the individual known from a high-profile criminal case as the "axe maniac" once again became a subject of a criminal case in Petropavlovsk. The man was detained on suspicion of attacking a 54-year-old woman on the outskirts of the city after the victim reported the incident to the police.
