The An-2 aircraft crashed on 27 May 2026 near the village of Zhelezinka in the Pavlodar region. Two people were on board. One pilot died, the other was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Ministry of Transport, the aircraft was carrying out aerial chemical work in the area of the Irtysh floodplain. It has been preliminarily established that the aircraft hit power lines and then crashed.

Two crew members were on board. The pilot, born in 1997, died at the scene. The second pilot, born in 1998, was extracted from the deformed cockpit by rescuers.
According to the Telegram channel ‘HALYQSTAN’, the deceased pilot was celebrating his 29th birthday on the day of the disaster.
HOW THE RESCUE OPERATION UNFOLDED
Following the report of the plane crash, forces from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) were dispatched to the scene. A Kazaviaspas helicopter with rescuers and specialists from the Disaster Medicine Centre also flew from Pavlodar.
MES personnel had to extricate the injured pilot from the cockpit using emergency rescue equipment. The man was first taken to the hospital in the village of Zhelezinka, then transported by helicopter to Pavlodar City Hospital No. 1.
CONDITION OF THE SURVIVING PILOT
According to the Pavlodar Region Health Department, the injured pilot is in the intensive care unit. He has been diagnosed with polytrauma.
‘His condition is serious. The patient is receiving all necessary treatment, and dynamic monitoring is being carried out,’ reported Pavlodar City Hospital No. 1.
