A passenger of the airline FlyArystan reported that he was unable to board his flight after issues were raised over his hand luggage. Video of the conflict situation was published by journalist Mikhail Kozachkov.

WHAT HAPPENED

According to journalist Mikhail Kozachkov's Telegram channel "Kozachkov offside", the passenger was denied boarding due to problems with his hand luggage. According to him, the man was addressing the staff's concerns, but by that point the gate had already been closed.

In the video footage, the passenger claims that he was at the boarding gate from the moment it opened and had already combined his belongings into one piece of hand luggage. In conversation with staff, he asks for the shift supervisor to be called and for an explanation as to why he was denied boarding.

According to the journalist, the man was ultimately forced to travel from Almaty to Aktau via Astana.

ANOTHER INCIDENT DURING A FLIGHT

Mikhail Kozachkov also recounted the story of an acquaintance of his who was flying on a flight from Shymkent to Almaty. According to him, the passenger was seated in the emergency exit row, and a flight attendant was carrying out the mandatory safety briefing on conduct.

Before the briefing, the flight attendant asked which language the passenger would prefer to communicate in.

According to the journalist, the conversation began in English, and then the passenger switched to Kazakh. After that, it is claimed, a conflict arose between them. Later, the senior flight attendant became involved, and the dispute was resolved.

CONTEXT

Earlier, founder of the FBRK Kirill Pavlov reported a disputed situation at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport. On 12 August 2026, during a security check, his work power bank was confiscated due to a crack in the casing. Pavlov stated that it was specifically the casing of the device that was damaged, not the battery, and noted that he had previously carried the same power bank through other airports on numerous occasions.

The story provoked a notable reaction in the comments. Following the publication, a wave of messages appeared defending the actions of the airport staff, which the FBRK linked to bot farm activity. At the same time, users shared their own cases where security screening rules were applied differently at various airports.
