The story of a young doctor’s employment in Alatau has taken a new turn following her public complaint about the condition of the official accommodation. In a detailed quote published on social media, the young woman stated that on her very first working day she was effectively refused employment, and that further questions about accommodation and her family’s relocation were, in her words, of no interest to the employer.

HOW THE SITUATION DEVELOPED

According to the doctor, on 6 January she arrived at the medical facility where she was supposed to start work in accordance with the order. She had previously been told that she should begin her duties in the morning. Upon arriving at the hospital, she wrote to the employer that she was on site and asked where she should go. In response, she was told to come to the office.

“During the conversation, she said I had done the wrong thing by posting the message, and stated that the order for my employment supposedly does not exist, after which she sent me to the HR department,” recounted the doctor.

THE ORDER THAT ‘DOES NOT EXIST’

The young woman emphasises that before the New Year she had submitted almost all the necessary documents. For the remaining 2–3 documents, she was asked to bring them on 5 January. On the same day, according to her, the order was read out in the HR department in her presence, its number was stated, the document was printed, and she personally signed it.

“What is more, I signed not only the order but also other documents — the whole process took about two hours. I clearly and distinctly remember that the order existed,” she noted.

However, on 6 January, upon arriving at the HR department, she was told that they did not have and never had any documents with her signature. The young woman was shown only copies of her diplomas and her employment record book — that is, the documents she had submitted herself. The papers that, according to her, were printed in her presence, including the order, were described by the HR department as non-existent.

THE AKIMAT’S POSITION AND UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

Later, the doctor claims, it emerged that the Akimat of Almaty Region, in response to journalists’ inquiries, stated that she is not a civil servant.

In this regard, the young woman raises questions to which, she says, she has yet to receive an answer:

“If, according to them, I am not a civil servant and was not employed, why are all my documents still with them? Why were they accepted, checked, procedures carried out on them, the order read out and printed, and I signed?”

She notes that what is happening seems illogical and raises even more questions.

WHAT HAPPENED PREVIOUSLY

As a reminder, it was previously reported that the doctor had publicly complained about the condition of the official accommodation provided to her in Alatau. According to her, the apartments offered were in unsatisfactory condition, despite claims that repairs had been carried out. Furthermore, the young woman stated that upon employment she had been promised a payment of 9.8 million tenge, but was later told that the relevant programme had been closed. After these publications, the story developed further.

THE HOUSING ISSUE AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE DECISION

According to the doctor, the decision communicated to her effectively meant the termination of employment. At the same time, she claims, the employer was not concerned about where she would go with her family.

The young woman noted that she could temporarily afford accommodation thanks to her husband’s support, but stressed that for a young specialist, the opportunity to receive an official apartment and relocation payments is a chance not to spend money on rent, but rather to invest it in the future.

At present, according to her, all the family’s belongings are stored in the employer’s temporary accommodation in Zhetigen.
