The woman in Zhetysu took out loans in the name of a family friend.

In the Zhetysu region, a woman fraudulently took out loans of more than 1 million tenge in a family friend's name.

According to polisia.kz, a resident of the Karatal district, abusing the trust of a family friend, used his smartphone to take out loans and online credits.

"The man works as a shepherd. He turned to the wife of a close friend for help setting up his smartphone. She asked for his identity card, supposedly to install some applications. The fraudster began taking out online loans and credits in his name, asking the victim to undergo video verification, explaining that it was necessary for registration," the statement said.

It is noted that every time the victim visited their home, the woman, under the pretext of checking the smartphone, took out new loans in his name. The victim suspected nothing until bank employees contacted him, informing him of the need to repay the loans.

Ultimately, the Karatal District Court found the woman guilty and sentenced her to 2 years of restricted freedom with probation supervision.

Mitigating circumstances included the presence of four minor children, as well as full compensation for damages to the victim.
