In 2023, 1,692 corruption offences were registered in Kazakhstan. The amount of damages compensated was 285.1 billion tenge.
The Telegram channel «Politprosvet.kz» compiled a list indicating which agencies' employees were convicted of corruption last year:
- Economic Investigation Service - 7 employees;
- Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources - 12 employees;
- Ministry of Health - 13 employees;
- Ministry of Agriculture - 17 employees;
- National Security Committee - 20 employees;
- Ministry of Defence - 27 employees;
- Ministry of Emergency Situations - 30 employees;
- Ministry of Finance - 38 employees;
- Local executive bodies - 175 employees of akimats and their structural subdivisions, including 7 akims;
- Internal Affairs Bodies - 191 employees.
