Yertis Basin Water Inspectorate of the Committee for Regulation, Protection and Use of Water Resources under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has identified cases of unauthorised construction in water protection zones and strips.

According to the ministry's press service, six entities engaged in illegal construction have been brought to administrative responsibility.

By decision of the court of first instance, 13 structures are to be demolished, of which 8 are in the Abai Region, 4 in the East Kazakhstan Region, and 1 in the Pavlodar Region.

Fines totalling 9,338,501 tenge have been imposed on the violators.

"Specialists of the Yertis Basin Water Inspectorate continue systematic work to identify and suppress violations in the field of protection and use of the water fund. New functions in the area of state control, introduced in the new Water Code, allow inspectors to promptly respond to citizens' appeals and information about violations of water legislation," said the head of the inspectorate, Medet Zhadigeruly.

The court decision on the demolition of 13 structures will enter into legal force after the completion of all prescribed procedures.
