Timur Turlov to engage in gold mining in Kazakhstan

Timur Turlov's company Turlov Private Holding Ltd. has become the sole participant in Central Asia Gold Corp LLP and Central Asia Gold Production LLP. The partnerships are engaged in the extraction and production of precious and rare metals in the Zhambyl Region

According to forbes.kz, Turlov's holding made the new acquisition in 2023. That same year, Turlov Private Holding became a 50-percent shareholder in JSC «Ai Karaul», which is engaged in industrial copper exploration in the East Kazakhstan Region.

«According to the report on the corporate event of the company in the financial reporting depository, one month after joining the shareholders, Turlov Private Holding Ltd. offered the other shareholders to sell their shares. The offered price per share was 119.2 thousand. Thus, the shareholder valued its 50% of the company at 8.94 billion tenge, or $19.96 million», the statement reads.

The owners of the remaining shares of the company are IDK Mining LLP (Danat Kasymkulov) – 21%, Industrial Zone Ordabasy LLP (Arman Payiz) – 21%, IDK Invest LLP (Zabira Salykbayeva) – 4.2%, and Dinmukhamet Idrisov – 3.7%

In the same year, Turlov Private Holding joined the founders of Production Company «Cement Plant Semey» LLP; the transaction amount was not disclosed. 

According to the financial report for 2022, the holding has stakes in the following companies: 

  • 99.8% in AltaiCement LLC in Novaltaysk, RF (logging, wholesale and retail trade); 
  • 61% in Semey Minerals LLP (development of gravel and sand quarries); 
  • 60% in House-Building Plant «Ertis» LLP (production of prefabricated reinforced concrete and concrete structures); 
  • 60% in Technologies of the XXI Century LLP (production and sale of building materials); 
  • 54.96% in Semey Mall LLP (real estate rental and management); 
  • 26.52% in Semey Trans Service LLP (railway operation and freight transportation). 

Incidentally, according to Forbes Kazakhstan, Timur Turlov holds fifth place in the ranking of the country's wealthiest and most influential businessmen. As recently as November 2022, Turlov Private Holding increased its authorised capital from 11.53 billion to 21.53 billion tenge.
