Kazakhstanis have started receiving notifications supposedly from the streaming service Netflix about a problem with payment details. The message contains a link that leads to a fake version of the company's website, where users are asked to update their subscription and fill in a form with their payment details.

According to 'BlueScreen|Digital Kazakhstan', the messages are being sent via email. Experts say that fraudsters usually distribute such notifications in English, and this is the first time specialists have encountered one localised for a specific country.
"This scheme has been around for several years, but we have never come across versions in Kazakh or other languages before. Attackers are increasingly using large language models for their purposes, not only to localise malicious mailings but also to create other fake content. Streaming services are popular in different countries, which is why they are increasingly used as bait to attract users' attention. It's important for series and film lovers to remember that vigilance online is a basic rule of cybersecurity," said Roman Dedenok, a cybersecurity expert at Kaspersky Lab.
