Police officers detained a 48-year-old resident of the Kostanay region in Aktobe, who is suspected of fraud.
A SOUVENIR INSTEAD OF MONEY
According to the portal Polisia.kz, the police received several reports from sellers at the Central Market in Aktobe. They reported that an unknown woman had paid them with souvenir banknotes.
WHAT WAS FOUND DURING THE SEARCH
During a personal search, a stack of souvenir banknotes with denominations of 5,000 and 10,000 tenge was seized from the suspect. Taking advantage of the frosty weather and the sellers' inattention, the woman purchased goods with souvenir banknotes and received real notes as change.
CONSEQUENCES
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Four instances of fraud have already been identified. Police are now checking the woman for involvement in similar crimes in the Aktobe area.
