The Specialised Inter-district Criminal Court of Kostanay Region has heard a criminal case against a police captain.
According to the press service of the Supreme Court, he is accused of incitement to commit a crime, illegal storage and transportation of narcotic drugs for the purpose of sale on an especially large scale, and abuse of official authority.
"The deputy head of the anti-drug crime department of the Kostanay City Police Department, together with police officers not identified by the investigation, through infliction of bodily harm and threats, forced one citizen to induce another to commit an especially serious crime with the aim of subsequently exposing and bringing him to criminal responsibility", the statement said.
It is reported that the deputy head systematically sold a psychotropic substance and its analogue on an especially large scale to a person "simulating criminal activity".
During a search of the police officer's car, hashish and methcathinone (an analogue of a psychotropic substance), which he had illegally stored and transported for the purpose of sale, were seized.
The court sentenced the police captain to 15 years' imprisonment with a lifelong ban on holding positions in the civil service and forfeiture of his rank.
Recall that earlier it was reported that a police officer from the Zhambyl Region gave a certain citizen money to buy a synthetic drug and then made an arrest. After the verdict was passed, the convicted person's lawyer contacted the authorities. He spoke about the provocation against his client by police officers.
