Police in Astana have detained a man who organised the sale of meat unfit for human consumption.
"It has been preliminarily established that this underground operation involved the processing and sale of carcasses of dead animals (sheep carcasses)", reports Polisia.kz.
The department explained that the relevant authorities are conducting an expert examination. The offender has been held administratively liable.
At the same time, it was noted that at the Eurasia-1 Shopping Centre and at the Kuygenzhar checkpoint, police officers identified three cases of illegal transportation of meat products without the requisite documents.
"Farm holdings, agricultural land, grazing points and slaughter sites were inspected, and preventive talks on observing sanitary standards were held with their owners", the statement reads.
