The Aktobe Prosecutor's Office has identified an attempt to sell human organs.

“As part of the implementation of the ‘Law and Order’ ideology, during a monitoring of the internet space, employees of the Aktobe Region Prosecutor's Office received information about a possible illegal transaction involving the sale of internal organs by a resident of Aktobe,” the press service of the department reports.

Based on this information, following a ruling by the regional prosecutor's office, the police department conducted investigative and operational search activities. As a result, a suspect who intended to sell his internal organs for 15 million tenge was detained.

In connection with this incident, law enforcement officers have initiated a pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (“Coercion to remove or illegal removal of human organs and tissues”).

It is worth recalling that in February last year, police in Kokshetau prevented the sale of a human organ. A native of Aktobe valued his kidney at $18,000 and placed an advertisement on the internet. He put the organ up for sale on the condition that the buyer arrange the surgical operation.

In September, employees of the Aktobe Prosecutor's Office, while monitoring the internet, detained a local resident who planned to sell his internal organs for 9 million tenge.

As is known, the first such crime in Kazakhstan was recorded in 2015. At that time, the investigation established that in Astana, the parties agreed on the sale of a kidney for transplantation for the sum of $15,000. In 2016, the buyer was sentenced to one and a half years of probation.
