The family of the former head of the Anti-Corruption Agency department for Astana, Shyngys Kabduly, has been found to own luxury property in Dubai.
According to the Telegram channel “Access to the Sea”, an apartment in the skyscraper DAMAC Residenze in the Dubai Marina area is registered in the name of the ex-official’s wife, Assel Satybaldykyzy. She is the niece of former president Nursultan Nazarbayev and the sister of Kairat Satybaldy.

This concerns a two-bedroom apartment with a spacious living room and a loggia, located on the 19th floor of an 85-storey building. The property also includes one parking space in the underground car park. Most apartments in this residential complex offer views of the artificial Palm Jumeirah island.
It is reported that the property was purchased in 2018 for $720,000 (369.8 million tenge). Meanwhile, the current market value of similar apartments in DAMAC Residenze is estimated at approximately $1.4 million (719.1 million tenge). The transaction was handled by the Kazakhstan real estate agency WWT Group.
In the year the apartment was purchased, Shyngys Kabduly was transferred from the capital’s Anti-Corruption department to the central office, where he took up the post of deputy chairman. In 2020, he again headed the department in Astana, and in March 2022, he was dismissed.
That same year, Assel Satybaldykyzy became involved in a criminal case linked to her brother Kairat Satybaldy. As part of the investigation, a car and several land plots in Astana — part of her assets in Kazakhstan — were seized. She later attempted to challenge the seizure, claiming she had no connection to her brother’s activities, but the court dismissed her appeal.
