In the Mangystau region, meat prices have risen due to flooding and a closed road. At markets, the wholesale price of one kilogram of lamb has increased by 100 tenge.
According to inAktau.kz, sellers of meat products believe this is not the limit. At the moment, they are selling meat that is in stock. However, according to them, the situation could change as early as Tuesday.
"Wholesalers have already warned us that due to the difficult situation with logistics and the floods, in which a lot of livestock has died, meat prices will change. For now, lamb has risen the most; beef is next. Today we bought lamb at 2,700 tenge per kilogram, before it was 2,600 tenge. And this is the wholesale price", say retail meat sellers.
The situation with live livestock has turned out differently - the price of one live ram in the region has risen to 70,000 tenge.
It is reported that a rise in wholesale prices for chilled and fresh meat awaits residents of the region as early as next week.
