President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will take part in the 4th meeting of the National Kurultai, which will take place on 14 March in Burabay.
This was reported on his Telegram channel by the President's press secretary, Ruslan Zheldibay.
"During the event, the Head of State will deliver a speech, and members of the Kurultai will put forward their proposals on pressing issues of public life", the statement reads.
Previous meetings of the National Kurultai were held in the Ulytau region (2022), in Turkestan (2023) and in Atyrau (2024).
It is worth noting that the President announced the idea of creating a National Kurultai in Kazakhstan in March 2022.
"We must modernise the traditions of steppe democracy, which has become the foundation of our unity. The national councils and public trust councils have successfully fulfilled their functions - now I propose creating the National Kurultai in their place, which will be broader in composition", the head of state noted at the time.
In June of that year, Tokayev signed a decree establishing the National Kurultai.
The document states that the National Kurultai is a consultative and advisory body, whose main goal is to develop ideas and steps for the further development of social consolidation.
