President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in a restricted format. During the meeting, participants discussed issues of foreign trade and initiatives for the development of artificial intelligence.
WHAT THE PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN SAID
According to Akorda, the meeting was chaired by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In his welcoming speech, the Head of State noted the symbolic nature of the date of the event.
The President recalled that on 29 May 2014, the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was signed in the capital of Kazakhstan. In his words, this event became an important milestone in Eurasian integration.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasised that over the course of its existence, the Union has become an important platform for cooperation among the states of the Eurasian 'five'. He also congratulated colleagues on Eurasian Economic Union Day and wished for the further development of the integration association.
WHAT ISSUES DID THE PARTICIPANTS CONSIDER
The Head of State reported that during the meeting, the parties intended to consider issues of foreign trade and the implementation of initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence.
According to the President, a substantive discussion of the topic of artificial intelligence began the day before within the framework of the economic forum. He expressed confidence that the meeting would allow for the development of solutions acceptable to all participating states.
