A policeman who caused a crash with a moped rider in Almaty has been held accountable.
According to media reports, a video circulated online earlier showing a patrol car hitting a moped rider. It is reported that after the collision, the moped rider refused medical assistance.
"The traffic accident took place in the Zhetysu district of Almaty. The driver of the Chevrolet patrol car has been held accountable. The case materials will be sent to court," said the press service of the city police department.
At the same time, it became known that the police officers were responding to an urgent call and, having turned on their flashing lights, intended to make a U-turn. Meanwhile, the police press service noted that the moped rider violated the law by riding in the bus lane.
