The Department for Land Resource Management of the Atyrau Region has initiated unscheduled inspections of petrol stations in the region.
The reason was an emergency incident that occurred on 30 May in Kulsary, where two people died and several others were injured. The explosion also damaged three single-storey buildings, the station itself, and a nearby two-storey building.
According to the press service of the department, during the inspections experts identified numerous cases of misuse of land plots.
"According to Article 65 of the Land Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, land users are obliged to use plots strictly in accordance with their intended purpose and the terms of contracts. Violations of these requirements entail administrative liability in accordance with Article 93 of the Land Code and Article 339 of the Code of Administrative Offences," the statement says.
As a result of the inspections, 8 administrative cases were initiated. The owners of the petrol stations were fined and issued mandatory instructions to eliminate the violations.
"The Department for Land Resource Management of the Atyrau Region continues unscheduled inspections of petrol stations across the entire region with the aim of ensuring the lawful and safe use of land plots," the department noted.
