The Prosecutor's Office of the Mangystau Region inspected the activities of driving schools and uncovered more than 1,000 cases of fictitious issuance of course completion certificates, as well as more than 100 violations of driver training regulations.
"Cases were identified of admitting individuals who had not undergone a medical examination, failing to conduct final lessons, final assessments and exams, lacking approved training plans and schedules, as well as the absence of extra brake and clutch pedals in training vehicles," the agency's press service reported.
Furthermore, the driving schools did not own any vehicles, which made it impossible to conduct practical lessons.
As a result of the inspection, driving school directors were brought to administrative responsibility, and the operations of two driving schools were suspended.
It should be recalled that in December last year, the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) completed a criminal case against the former head of the Special Service Centre (SpecTSON) in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The suspect received payments for assistance in passing the theoretical exam to obtain a driving licence. The criminal income from these activities exceeded 32 million tenge.
In March this year, in the Zhambyl Region, a group of individuals who illegally sold driving licences at the SpecTSON in Taraz were convicted.
In May, it was reported that over the past three years, the territorial departments of the AFM had investigated 88 criminal cases related to the illegal registration of over 1,800 vehicles, with the evasion of the collection fee for initial registration amounting to 11.8 billion tenge.
