Heat supply companies have recalculated charges for thermal energy for the period 2023-2024.
According to the press service of the Committee for the Regulation of Natural Monopolies of the Ministry of National Economy, citizens without heat metering devices will be refunded 768.1 million tenge including VAT.
By region, the money is to be returned as follows:
- in the East Kazakhstan Region – 354.4 million tenge;
- in Almaty – 95.4 million tenge;
- in the Mangystau Region – 60.9 million tenge;
- in the Kyzylorda Region – 38.5 million tenge;
- in the Aktobe Region – 37.7 million tenge;
- in the Akmola Region – 33.5 million tenge;
- in the Kostanay Region – 31.9 million tenge;
- in the North Kazakhstan Region – 24.1 million tenge;
- in the Turkestan Region – 23.6 million tenge;
- in Shymkent – 20.2 million tenge;
- in the Almaty Region – 18.1 million tenge;
- in the Zhambyl Region – 15 million tenge;
- in the Abay Region – 13.5 million tenge;
- in the Atyrau Region – 10.6 million tenge;
- in the Zhetysu Region – 6 million tenge;
- in the Pavlodar Region – 4.1 million tenge;
- in Astana – 2.2 million tenge;
- in the West Kazakhstan Region – 1.1 million tenge.
It is also reported that a different approach is applied for consumers in the Ulytau Region and Karaganda Region, as the cost of the regulated heat supply service 'is calculated based on the actual outdoor air temperature'.
'It should be noted that installing thermal energy metering devices allows payment for heat supply services only for the actual volume of thermal energy consumed, while also eliminating possible overpayment during the heating season. Currently, the level of metering device installation in multi-apartment residential buildings across the country is around 75%', the committee summarised.
