In the Akmola Region, out of 16 planned children's health centres, only six have received permission to operate. This was reported by the acting head of the regional department of sanitary and epidemiological control, Saoule Sadvakassova.
According to the Telegram channel "Halyqstan", in the summer of 2025, 16 camps for rest and recovery for at least 15,000 schoolchildren were supposed to start operating in the region. However, by 12 June, fewer than half of them were ready to receive children.
Saoule Sadvakassova emphasised that to inform parents and organisers, a special tab, "Children's Summer Holidays", is available on the official website of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control (DSEC). It contains up-to-date information on issued permits, sanitary requirements for children's institutions, as well as recommendations for organisers.
Furthermore, the department monitors social networks for advertisements of children's holiday services that lack the appropriate documentation. The operation of such facilities may pose a threat to the health and safety of children, so specialists urge parents to check the availability of permits for camps before sending their children there.
In October last year, in the city of Kulsary, Zhylyoi District, Atyrau Region, parents who had sent their children to a holiday camp staged a mass protest in front of the district akimat building. The children were housed in a camp infested with cockroaches, and the rooms were in an unsanitary condition.
