The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the solving of 39 cases of human trafficking.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported the suppression of serious crimes in the area of human trafficking.

According to Polisia.kz, law enforcement officers registered 39 such cases in total, six of which involved minors.

In Almaty, the activities of a group involved in the sale of newborn babies were uncovered. The organisers exploited the difficult circumstances of young women, persuading them to sell their children. All members of the criminal scheme have been detained, and more than 20 criminal cases are under investigation. The suspects face up to 18 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In the Abai Region, cases of exploitation of citizens through involvement in forced labour were identified. Police have opened 11 criminal cases, and the materials are being prepared for submission to court. 

At the same time, during inspections of nightlife entertainment venues, law enforcement officers established facts of involvement of citizens, including minors, in various forms of exploitation. Such cases were identified in Shymkent, as well as in the Aktobe, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda and Kostanay regions.

In Astana, police, together with the prosecutor's office, carried out raids in the area of the railway station on Goethe Street. As a result of the checks, eight people are being brought to criminal responsibility for organising and keeping brothels for sexual exploitation.

In the Akmola Region, the activities of a religious group that had set up a centre where promiscuous sexual relations and the rejection of family values were promoted were stopped. During searches, religious literature and ritual objects were seized.

Furthermore, in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, the activities of organisers of "elite escort" services, who were involved in recruiting young women in nightclubs and bars, were identified. Police established facts of procuring. Criminal cases have been sent to court.
