In 2026, Kazakhstan has announced a call-up of more than 850 reserve officers. The main goal is to replenish the armed forces and form a military-trained reserve. Priority is given to candidates with in-demand specialities and those without permanent employment.
DISTRIBUTION OF THOSE CALLED UP AND SERVICE POSTINGS
According to a resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, of the total number called up: 700 officers are assigned to the armed forces, 80 to the border service, 64 to the national guard, and 15 to the ministry of emergency situations. Service is conducted at the place of military registration or residence.
WHO IS CALLED UP AND IN WHICH SPECIALITIES
Those subject to the call-up are reserve officers up to the age of 29 who are fit for health reasons, and for medical specialities — up to the age of 32. The main focus is on military occupational specialities: aviation, engineering, artillery, radio-technical, military transport, medical, logistics, information, and reconnaissance.
SOCIAL BENEFITS AND RIGHTS OF THOSE CALLED UP
Called-up officers receive social benefits at the level of contract servicemen: monetary allowance, housing or housing payments, food, and medical care.
Deferment from the call-up is possible by decision of the draft board for family reasons, to continue education, or for health reasons.
