A video is circulating online from a private Almaty kindergarten "Akhlak", which shows a teacher choking a 4-year-old child. At the time, two other members of staff were also present in the room.

According to the Telegram channel "QOGAM by SATZHANGRAM", the abuse came to light after the child complained to their parents that they were being hit at the kindergarten.

"When the camera footage was requested, they saw the teacher literally choking the child. At the same time, two other kindergarten employees were also in the room", the statement reads.

Meanwhile, media citing the press service of the Almaty police department report that law enforcement officers have opened a criminal case into the matter.

"A criminal case has been opened by the police department of the Bostandyk District Police Department concerning the failure to fulfil duties for the upbringing of a minor", the statement says.

It is worth recalling that large-scale projects to protect children from violence are in place in Kazakhstan. For instance, the Prosecutor General's Office conducted extensive work, visiting more than 63,000 families from at-risk groups.

As a result of the inspections, the authority initiated 93 pre-trial investigations against guardians and parents, and 11,000 legal representatives were held administratively liable for improper fulfilment of their duties. 342 children were placed into state care due to extreme necessity.
