Kazpost offers to display the IIN when purchasing on marketplaces

Managing Director of Qazpost Digital, Assem Nurgaliyeva, has put forward the idea of creating 'invisible' customs clearance for purchases from foreign marketplaces. The head of the company announced this on her Facebook page.

'Currently, when buying goods on international marketplaces (MPs), you don't think that the MPs don't identify you at all, but during customs clearance you have to show all your documents, send them, pay, and wait. Of course, our task is to make customs clearance as invisible as possible, but our own requirements will also need to be met somewhere', the statement reads.

Assem Nurgaliyeva explained how the clearance process might look:

  • Request for an Individual Identification Number (IIN) when ordering on a marketplace.
  • With the consent of citizens, Qazpost will transfer all data for customs clearance directly into the systems of the State Revenue Committee (SRC).
  • Parcels will be received through special programmes (API).
