At a gathering of military psychologists in Astana, a Telegram bot called AI-sulu was presented, created using artificial intelligence to provide round-the-clock and anonymous support to military personnel and their families.

According to the press service of the Burlin District Akimat in the West Kazakhstan Region, the service is designed to offer support in stressful situations and could become an effective tool for psychological assistance, directing users to specialists and necessary resources.

The Deputy Minister of Defence for Educational and Ideological Work, Vice-Admiral Serik Burambayev, emphasised that psychological resilience is a key element of army combat readiness and that modern challenges require the adoption of digital solutions.

The head of the information department of the National Military-Patriotic Centre, Major Kasymkhan Tuitin, noted that AI-sulu does not replace a real psychologist, but can listen, offer advice and help navigate a difficult situation.

The bot is available in Russian and Kazakh. Its main advantage is anonymity and constant availability. At the same gathering, issues of preventing destructive behaviour, building stress resilience, using IT tools in psychological work and engaging with young people were also discussed.

Experts in psychotherapy, suicidology and military psychology noted that the knowledge gained will help in working with personnel and will form the basis of new methodological materials for the army's psychological service.

For context, earlier the Prosecutor General Berik Asylov ordered the introduction of two new projects — "Law and Order in the Army" and "Digital Prevention". The initiative, aimed at protecting military personnel, ensuring transparency of command and increasing levels of trust, has become particularly relevant in light of tragic incidents within the country's army.
