At the Karaganda Infectious Diseases Hospital, young patients unexpectedly found black beetles in a container of pilaf and chicken.

HOW THE INCIDENT UNFOLDED

According to KTK TV channel, parents note that the clinic has strict rules regarding food brought from home, so the situation has caused additional concern among patients and their families.

Medical staff reported that the hospital does not have its own catering unit, and meals for the department are supplied by a specialised company.

RESPONSE FROM ADMINISTRATION AND SUPPLIER

According to Lucia Gomel, Deputy Director for Medical Affairs at the regional hospital, the administration responded to the incident immediately.

A representative of the supplier was called to the scene, an inspection was carried out, and the entire batch of food was completely replaced. Additionally, information was passed to the relevant authorities for inspection and further action.

CONSEQUENCES AND MEASURES

The supplier replaced the entire problematic batch; further steps will depend on the results of inspections by the competent authorities.
