Former director of the House of Culture for the Visually Impaired in Aktobe, Manas Kosherbayev, who committed an act of vandalism last year in the Ybykty Say Gorge in Mangystau, has once again been appointed to a leadership position.
According to lada.kz, this time the official has been appointed head of the Baiganin District House of Culture.
"On 15 February of this year, a competition was announced for the vacant position of director of the Baiganin District House of Culture. Any citizen of Kazakhstan whose documents met the competition requirements could submit an application. Three people submitted documents for the competition. Among them was Kosherbayev Manas Maratuly. The competition committee found that the qualifications of two citizens did not meet the requirements, and both candidates had not held leadership positions. Manas Kosherbayev's documents met all the requirements. Therefore, Manas Kosherbayev was appointed head of the Baiganin District House of Culture on 6 March," the Baiganin Culture Department reported.
To recall, in August 2023, a video began to circulate online in which Manas Kosherbayev was caught "carving" some inscriptions on the rocks of the Ybykty Say canyon. Afterwards, he recorded a video apology.
According to him, he had no malicious intent - he claimed he was trying to correct a rude word. However, later Kosherbayev submitted a resignation letter of his own accord and left his leadership position.
