In Taldykorgan, a verdict was announced for the head of the department for regulating natural monopolies in the Zhetysu region, Arman Sagymbekov, and the chairman of the board of JSC 'Taldykorgan Shareholding Transport and Electric Grid Company', Aibek Kuzembayev.
According to the press service of Anticor, the official was found guilty of receiving, and the company head of giving, a bribe in the amount of 500,000 tenge. The bribe was intended for the approval of a knowingly inflated tariff for the transport of electricity to the region's population.
As a result, the court sentenced Sagymbekov and Kuzembayev to fines of 15 million tenge and 10 million tenge, respectively.
Furthermore, they have been banned for life from holding positions in the state service and in quasi-public sector entities. The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
As a reminder, the detention of the head of the department for regulating natural monopolies in the Zhetysu region was reported in March of this year.
