The National Security Committee (NSC) has detained the head of the Western Regional Military Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Aktau on suspicion of accepting a bribe.
According to Informburo.kz, the information was confirmed by the NSC press service.
The individual is believed to be Mukhit Dzhavgashev, the acting head of the department. Also implicated in the case is his subordinate, whose details have not been disclosed.
"A pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Article 366 of the Criminal Code, 'Acceptance of a bribe'. The NSC is not disclosing any further information in the interests of the investigation," the statement reads.
