Police have detained the director of a company, who was wanted for the theft of 25 million tenge.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in April, police in the Koksu district of the Zhetysu region received a statement regarding the theft of a large sum of money from a representative of a joint-stock company.
"In his appeal, he asked to locate the director of one of the regional branches of this JSC, who had taken a large sum from the cash register and disappeared in an unknown direction", reported Adilet Makashev, deputy head of the Koksu District Police Department.
According to the victim, the branch director took the money, abusing his official position. During an audit, employees discovered a shortfall of over 25 million tenge.
"During the search operations, the suspect was detained and confessed his guilt. When asked where he had put the money, he explained that he had spent it on personal needs", added Makashev.
