Information is circulating online that the former chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Pirmatov, has become a subject of a criminal case.
"Pirmatov has become a subject of a criminal case and a pre-trial investigation is currently underway against him", reports the media.
What exactly the former head of the National Bank is suspected of has not been disclosed.
Galymzhan Pirmatov held the position of chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 3 February 2022, until he was dismissed from his post by a presidential decree this year. This happened just last month.
