The press service of the NSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that there has been a recent increase in cases of telephone fraud, where criminals pose as NSC employees.
It is reported that the attackers ask citizens to assist in carrying out financial transactions, the actual purpose of which is to obtain their money.
"We inform you that, in the course of performing their official duties, NSC employees do not have the authority to offer citizens the arrangement of loans, the transfer of funds, or the execution of any other financial transactions", the agency states.
At the same time, the NSC recommended that if suspicious phone calls or messages are received, citizens should contact the police.
Recall that earlier, Mazhilis deputy Unzila Shapak reported that in 2023, the total amount of money stolen and loans taken out in citizens' names by fake police officers and fake bankers amounted to 21 billion tenge.
