Former mayor of Almaty Erbolat Dosaev has joined the board of directors of the national holding company Samruk-Kazyna.
According to Kursiv.media, in September of this year Dosaev was appointed deputy head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Against this backdrop, changes to the composition of the national holding’s board of directors were approved.
The current board of directors of Samruk-Kazyna includes Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Bolat Zhamishev, Luca Sutera, Wong Heng Fine, Nurlan Zhakupov, Mohammed Jamil Al Ramahi, Erbolat Dosaev, and also the artificial intelligence Samruk-Kazyna Artificial Intelligence (SKAI).
Dosaev’s appointment can be seen as a return to the holding’s structure: he previously served on the board of directors of Samruk-Kazyna from 2012 to 2016.
For context, Erbolat Dosaev held the post of mayor of Almaty from January 2022 to May 2025.
