The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) for the Zhetysu region is conducting an investigation into the theft of subsidies.
According to the agency's press service, the head of a local LLP illegally received subsidies from the agriculture department for two years, which had been allocated by the state for the processing of dairy products. The total damage exceeded 300 million tenge.
To confirm his costs, the suspect submitted fake documents to the department regarding the purchase of milk from entrepreneurs and false information about the production of butter.
Furthermore, the suspect spent part of the illegally obtained subsidies, amounting to 110 million tenge, on gambling at a casino.
By court order, a factory valued at over 300 million tenge was seized. A measure of restraint in the form of house arrest was chosen for the suspect. The investigation continues.
It will be recalled that earlier, following an inspection of LLP "Experimental Farm 'Merkensky'" and LLP "Zhemis-zhidek" in the Zhambyl region, prosecutors uncovered facts of subsidy theft totalling over 321 million tenge.
It was reported that from 2015 to 2022, the heads of the LLP and five company employees falsified documents regarding the sale of fruit tree seedlings, deliberately inflating the quantity of products being sold.
