In Aktobe, a verdict was passed against the director of the charitable foundation "More Life", Bibigul Zhulina. She was convicted of fraud.
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", Zhulina collected money for those in need of complex operations abroad.
As the investigation established, Zhulina misappropriated money that had been received as donations between 2022 and 2024 for the treatment of sick children. The total amount of damage amounted to nearly 44 million tenge.
Zhulina did not admit guilt and refused to give testimony, calling the court proceedings a "circus".
Court No. 2 of Aktove found Bibigul Zhulina guilty of stealing other people's property and sentenced her to 6.5 years in prison.
In addition, she was banned from holding leadership positions in commercial and non-commercial organisations for 10 years.
"The civil lawsuits of the victims for the recovery of the amount of material damage caused have been granted", the press service of Court No. 2 of Aktobe reported.
Recall, in September it was reported that a resident of Shymkent was suspected of collecting money under the pretext of helping treat children from the Talgar district. The perpetrator used photographs of children who actually suffered from cancer. At the same time, he posted the details of a dummy bank card. The damage exceeded 32 million tenge.
