The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry (MDDIAI) Bagdat Musin and Vice-Minister of Finance Yerzhan Birzhanov responded to a request from deputies of the People's Party of Kazakhstan (PPK) concerning the security of citizens' personal data when submitting the universal declaration.

According to informburo.kz, the deputies were concerned about the department's readiness to assume personal responsibility. They asked the ministers whether they could guarantee that the declared data of citizens would not fall into the hands of criminals.

As noted by Bagdat Musin, the technical support of the information systems of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) is currently carried out by JSC «Centre for Electronic Finance»

According to him, in order to avoid the risks of personal data leakage and unauthorised access, the MDDIAI submitted relevant recommendations to the Ministry of Finance and the SRC, which provide for:

  • connection to the operational information security centre;
  • undergoing testing procedures for compliance with information security requirements;
  • implementation of uniform requirements for information and communication technologies and ensuring information security;
  • connection to the state service for controlling access to personal data.

"It should be noted that access to the declarations is granted only by a special order to a limited circle of employees who bear personal responsibility for the confidentiality and security of the information, including administrative and criminal liability for its loss or unlawful use", stated Vice-Minister of Finance Yerzhan Birzhanov in response.
