Depositors of a financial pyramid in Shymkent have lost more than 170 million

In Shymkent, the organisers of the financial pyramid “Payyzsyz baspana” have been convicted.
 
According to the press service of the city prosecutor's office, the defendants used social media between 2019 and 2021 to solicit funds from investors in Shymkent, Almaty and Astana. Victims were promised housing at a low cost.

As a result of their actions, 134 citizens suffered losses of more than 171 million tenge

The Inter-District Criminal Court of Shymkent found the head and employees of the housing cooperative “Payyzsyz baspana” guilty and sentenced them to between 3 and 6 years in prison.

Previously, in Karaganda, one of the organisers of the financial pyramid  “Life is good Hermes Management Ltd” was convicted, with 7 of its investors suffering material damage totalling 108.7 million tenge.

In September, a sentence was handed down in Astana to the head of a branch of the financial pyramid “Chia Tai Pharmaceutical”. The defendant raised funds from investors under the guise of investment in a pharmaceutical plant. As a result, 12 victims lost 29.2 million tenge.

Shortly before that, in the West Kazakhstan region, the organiser of the financial pyramid “Kachestvo PLUS” LLP was convicted. The defendant took money from 73 investors. The material damage to the victims exceeded 143 million tenge.

In July, the head of the financial pyramid “Qnet” in the Kostanay region was sentenced to 6 years in prison. Her victims numbered 94 people. The damage amounted to 86 million tenge.
