A citizen of Kazakhstan, who was hiding abroad, has been returned to his homeland and convicted on several criminal charges.
WHAT THE DEFENDANT WAS ACCUSED OF
According to the case materials, the man, through deception, induced the victim to hand over 30 million tenge as a bribe in exchange for exemption from criminal liability. He was also charged with forgery of an official document.
EXTRADITION FROM TURKEY
To bring the suspect to justice, he was extradited from the Republic of Türkiye. Information about the duration of the search, the arrest procedure, and the specific agencies that ensured his return has not been provided.
After being brought to Kazakhstan, the case was reviewed by a court with the participation of a jury.
COURT DECISION
The court found the defendant guilty of:
- incitement to give a bribe;
- fraud;
- forgery of documents.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The sentence has entered into legal force.
