The Medeu District Court of Almaty has seized the property of Dulat Kozhamzharov — the brother of former Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov. The relevant ruling has been published in the "Judicial Cabinet" service.

As reported by Ulysmedia.kz, the court restricted the disposal of all movable and immovable property of two individuals and four companies linked to them, following a claim by the People's Bank. The total amount of the seizure was 2.63 billion tenge.

The ruling states that the seizure is imposed to the extent of the claimed amount, totalling over 2.55 billion tenge, plus the paid state duty of over 76.5 million tenge.

"To impose a seizure within the limits of the stated claim – 2,550,635,252.63 tenge and the amount of the paid state duty of 76,524,956 tenge, totalling 2,627,160,208.63 tenge on all movable and immovable property of the defendants: Oil Supply Group of Companies LLP, HILL Resources LLP, HILL Invest LLP, AvtoTechMas Ltd LLP, Dulat Perneshevich Kozhamzharov and Gulnaz Sagatbekovna Kozhamzharova," the document states.

The court clarified that the previous ruling from 6 November contained technical errors in the description of the property and amounts. Based on Article 235 of the Civil Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the document was corrected — the details regarding the value and list of seized property were amended.

Recall that in September, it was reported that a pre-trial investigation had been launched against the former chairman of the Agency for Combating Economic and Corruption Crime, Kairat Kozhamzharov. He is suspected of exceeding his official powers, as well as money laundering of criminally obtained funds, during various periods of his tenure in leadership positions.

Later, it became known that the former chief transport prosecutor of Kazakhstan, Maksat Duisenov, who was described as Kozhamzharov's right-hand man, was detained in Germany. His whereabouts were identified by the law enforcement authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany at the request of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In July, it was reported that one of Kozhamzharov's close associates — the former chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Talgat Tatubayev, suspected of using torture, had been detained.
